MANILA – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said the more than two-week rehabilitation of portions of the Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) covering the cities of Mandaluyong and San Juan will start on Friday night.

In an advisory, the DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) said the EDSA southbound lane in San Juan and the northbound lane in Mandaluyong will be partially closed until Aug. 26.

“Repair works will include the conduct of asphalt overlay on EDSA Southbound in San Juan City – from Connecticut to Ortigas Avenue; and EDSA Northbound in Mandaluyong City, after Guadalupe Bridge to Shaw Boulevard,” the DPWH said.

Meanwhile, it said asphalt overlay will only be done during weekends so as not to disrupt vehicular traffic in the areas where works will be conducted.

“Once completed, closed lanes will be immediately opened to traffic on August 26, 2024, before 5 a.m. for the convenience of the road users,” it said.

Motorists have been advised to use possible alternative routes or adjacent lanes during the rehabilitation works. (PNA)
