CEBU CITY – A woman and her companion have yielded some PHP7.3 million worth of “shabu” during a drug sting operation in Barangay Sawang Calero here.

“The suspects are currently in the custody of Sawang Calero Police Station 6 and are facing charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs,” Capt. Jay Soto Palcon, chief of the Cebu City police’s Station 6, said in a statement Friday.

He said police collared “Sabel,” 37, and a 38-year-old male companion, both of Talisay City, and seized from them over a kilo of suspected shabu on Thursday.

Personnel from the Cebu City Police Intelligence Unit and the Regional Intelligence Unit-7 joined the operation.

Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, director of the Police Regional Office, praised the Cebu City police for their recent successful drug bust.

“We will ensure that airtight cases will be filed to ensure the conviction of these arrested suspects,” he said. (PNA)
