MANILA – The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Wednesday warned the public against several unverified independent tower companies (ITC) that seek to gather information or propose to purchase properties.

In an advisory, the DICT said the ITCs, introducing themselves as the “third Telecommunity Tower provider in the Philippines,” are requesting information and are looking for properties as sites for cellular towers.

“Said companies are in no way connected to this office nor said actions are sanctioned by the Philippine government. The general public is advised to exercise extreme caution and due diligence when handing sensitive information to unverified and unauthorized ITC entities,” it said.

To date, an investigation on unverified ITCs is ongoing.

In the meantime, the DICT called on the public to check the list of registered ITCs at https://dict.gov.ph/list-of-registered-itc/.

The DICT can also be reached through email at information@dict.gov.ph or through telephone at (02) 8920-0101 (local 1004). (PNA)
