MANILA – Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin has administered the oath of office to Michelle Mae Gonzales as the new commissioner-at-large of the National Youth Commission (NYC).

Malacañang on Friday released several photos of Gonzales’ oath-taking at Bersamin’s office.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. appointed Gonzales on Aug. 12, based on the appointment paper released by Malacañang.

Gonzales replaced former NYC commissioner-at-large Laurence Anthony Diestro.

She will serve the NYC for a term of three years.

The NYC is the policy-making body of all youth-related institutions, programs, projects and activities of the government.

It is responsible for policy formulation and review of youth promotion and development programs; establishment of a consultative mechanism for dialogue with youth; and linkaging with government and non-government organizations both at the national and international levels. (PNA)
