3 high-value suspects yield P1.7-M shabu in Pampanga buy-bust

MANILA – Police officers arrested three high-value individuals (HVI) and seized over PHP1.7 million worth of shabu in a sting operation in Pampanga province on Sunday evening.

In a statement on Monday, Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) officer-in-charge Brig. Gen. Benjamin Sembrano said the suspects known by their aliases 'Alex', 47; 'Amino', 38; and 'Amed', 38 were arrested in Barangay San Jose in San Fernando City.

Seized from the suspects were 260 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP1.768 million.

The three suspects, now in police custody, will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Sembrano said the successful operation highlights the continued dedication and vigilance of Central Luzon police in combating the proliferation of illegal drugs in the region.

SPD: P5.1-M illegal drugs seized in 1 week

Meanwhile, police officers in Southern Metro Manila seized PHP5.13 million worth of illegal drugs in week-long operations.

Citing the latest data, Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete said this is equivalent to 741.17 grams of shabu and 736.82 grams of marijuana that were confiscated from 105 suspects in 74 operations from Aug. 12 to 18.

The SPD covers the cities of Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Parañaque, Las Piñas, and Muntinlupa as well as the municipality of Pateros. (PNA)
