CEBU CITY – The Roman Catholic Church here on Monday issued a “scam alert” via Facebook following a post claiming that Archbishop Jose Palma has endorsed a product.

“We would like to clarify that this claim is entirely untrue and misleading,” the statement from the Archdiocese of Cebu read.

“Archbishop Palma has not endorsed or supported this product in any capacity,” it added.

The statement did not specify what product or products the post claimed to have been endorsed by the 74-year-old prelate.

The church advised the “public to exercise caution and not to be misled by this false claim.”

“For accurate information and genuine endorsements, please rely on official channels and trusted sources,” it added. (PNA)
