MANILA – At least four flights between Manila and Fukuoka were canceled Thursday due to the bad weather conditions in Japan.

The Manila International Airport Authority said these flights were Philippine Airlines (PR) 426/425 and Cebu Pacific (5J) 922/923 Manila-Fukuoka-Manila.

Based on news reports, Typhoon Shanshan will approach Kyushu and may make landfall on Thursday.

Japan's Meteorological Agency has issued an emergency warning for storms and high waves for Kagoshima Prefecture.

The strong typhoon prompted authorities to issue the highest warning level for wind and storm surges in Kyushu, the reports said. (PNA)
