BACOLOD CITY – Negros Occidental’s provincial government unveiled its multi-level parking facility, which can accommodate up to 114 vehicles, inside the motor pool compound across the Provincial Capitol here on Thursday.

With a project cost of PHP25.27 million, the parking space along Gatuslao Street has a floor area of 3,000 square meters and a lot area of 1,500 square meters.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who led the inauguration rites with Provincial Engineer Ernie Mapa, said the facility would accommodate the province’s service vehicles under the Capitol Cab system and vehicles of provincial government employees.

“The parking area in front of the Capitol building is always full. We’re trying to avoid parking along the road, that’s why we built this,” he added.

In 2021, the provincial government established Capitol Cab, a ride-hailing service with a digital booking application that handles the travel demands of provincial government employees on official business. (PNA)
