CEBU CITY – Building officials here on Monday inspected a property between the boundaries of two villages following the landslide that caused the collapse of a wall last Saturday and claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl.

Architect Florante Catalan, head of the Office of the Building Officials in this city, said they inspected the boundary of Tisa and Punta Princesa at Sitio Caduloy Riverside where the landslide resulted in the death of Jemimah Ibuña.

“Our inspection aims to address safety concerns and prevent similar incidents in the future,” Catalan said.

Another team was deployed to check on another landslide site in the mountain barangay of San Jose, which also claimed the life of Claire Dosdos, 26, a resident of the said upland barangay, amid heavy rain on Saturday.

Both Ibuña and Dosdos were retrieved by the rescuers on Sunday.

At least five residents of Sitio Caduloy Riverside were also brought to Cebu City Medical Center for treatment and nine others were evacuated to a nearby public school for safety as Cebu City is experiencing continuous rain. (PNA)
