MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Wednesday dismissed as fake news the reports circulating online of being ill and having been hospitalized.

“Do I look sick? 'Yan ang kailangan nating bantayan, mga fake news na ganyan (That's what we have to watch out for, those fake news), unless it comes from a credible source. Ang dami kong kaibigan tumawag sa akin, 'Okay ka ba, Okay ka ba?' Wala! Kalokohan lang 'yan (Many of my friends called and asked me, 'Are you okay, are you okay?' It’s nothing! That's just nonsense),” Marcos told Palace reporters when asked to comment on reports that he had a medical emergency and was supposedly hospitalized.

Marcos said he spent the entire Tuesday working in Malacañang -- meeting with military service commanders and doing paperwork.

Nagulat lang ako when they said medical emergency (I was just surprised when they said I had a medical emergency),” Marcos said laughing.

“Well, it's totally and completely fake. I do not even have a cold. I do not have anything wrong with me. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern,” he added. (PNA)
