MANILA – The country’s premier organization of business journalists, the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (EJAP), will hold its first Aviation Forum focusing on the transition of operations of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) from the government to private sector.
Co-presented by San Miguel Corp. (SMC), the EJAP will hold the Aviation Forum on Sept. 9 at the Makati Diamond Hotel.
"The forum will provide a crucial platform for industry leaders, policymakers and stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue and share insights to the broader public," EJAP president Neil Jerome Morales said.
Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, as well as SMC chair and chief executive officer Ramon Ang, will sit down in the forum to discuss the scheduled turnover of the country’s main gateway to SMC-led New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC).
The transition will mark the start of the rehabilitation project of NAIA to improve and modernize its facilities and address the congestion issues in the country’s main airport.
Meanwhile, Tourism Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration chief Arnaldo Ignacio will also join the event.
Executives from the country’s major airlines—Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia—will also deliver their speech and will participate in the panel discussion.
