CEBU CITY – A 17-year-old male drug suspect yielded PHP13.6 million worth of shabu to agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas (PDEA-7) in a sting operation in Mandaue City on Friday afternoon.

The drugs, weighing about two kilos and packed separately in five small plastic bags, were seized from the suspect who is a resident of Ubay, Bohol, identified as a high-value drug personality.

Also seized from the suspect were buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence.

Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA-7, said the agency placed the suspect in a case buildup for two weeks.

“We received information from a confidential agent about the suspect’s drug operation. Around one kilo of shabu is his weekly disposal,” Alcantara said.

Although high-value, Alcantara said the suspect is a newly identified drug player in the region.

Drug charges will be filed against the suspect on Tuesday, as Monday in Cebu province is Osmeña Day, a local holiday. (PNA)
