MANILA – The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on Tuesday offered regular faculty members or technical personnel of higher education institutions (HEIs) an in-person short course about halal food standards alongside field visits in Indonesia.

“The Commission, in collaboration with Universitas Bakrie, is excited to offer a 10-day short-term course on “Halal Food Standard Compliance” to be conducted in Indonesia,” the CHED said in a Facebook post.

The short course shall span from October 30 to November 8 based on its tentative schedule.

The short course is open for a maximum of two undergraduate and graduate faculties or technical staff in all HEIs, it added.

“This course is tailored for faculty and staff engaged in curriculum development and institutional quality assurance, particularly those with a teaching background in food technology, agriculture, hospitality, tourism, hotel, and restaurant management at both undergraduate and graduate levels,” the CHED said.

Under the Continuing Professional Development Studies Grant (CPDSG), the CHED scholarship will shoulder program and training fees including travel, accommodations, and meal expenses; training kits; stipend or allowance; certificate of completion; and immersion or field visits to facilities in Indonesia.

Interested applicants, meanwhile, must be nominated by their sending HEIs with all the requirements on or before September 30. (PNA)
