Over 18K job offers at 'Handog ng Pangulo' fair in 2 Visayas regions

CEBU CITY – About 2,000 vacancies will be available during a one-day job fair organized by the Department of Labor and Employment in line with the “Handog ng Pangulo” simultaneous distribution of assistance to the people, a labor official said on Thursday.

Lilia Estillore, regional director of DOLE-7, said the job fair in Central Visayas will also be conducted simultaneously in four different sites.

Job hunters may submit their applications to companies in different industries joining the job fairs at Robinsons Galleria in Cebu City, Robinsons Place in Dumaguete City, Tayud, Liloan Gym in Liloan town, north of Cebu province, and Jagna Public Market Atrium in Jagna, Bohol.

Estillore said every applicant is required to bring an updated resume, biodata, 2x2 picture, ballpen, certificate of employment and other pre-placement requirements.

“Be an early bird on Friday, register on time, and go to the job fairs’ shopping area so you can choose the positions that will be best suited for your interests and qualifications,” Estillore advised job hunters. 

In Western Visayas, 16,551 vacancies will be up for grabs for job seekers during the synchronized “Handog ng Pangulo Job Fair” on Friday.

The jobs consisting of 12,782 local employment and 3,769 jobs abroad can be accessed by joining these fairs in six venues, including the ABL Sports Complex, Capitol Site, Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan; Binirayan Gymnasium, Binirayan Sports Complex, San Jose, Antique; Robinsons Roxas, Brgy. Lawa-an, Roxas City, Capiz; Guimaras Provincial Capitol Grounds, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras; Casa Real de Iloilo, Provincial Capitol, Iloilo City; and Ayala Malls, Bacolod City.

A total of PHP18.29 million in livelihood assistance will also be released to 10 workers group, benefiting 691 member beneficiaries composed of farmers, tricycle drivers, and parents of child laborers. (PNA)
