SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Around 1,000 Antiqueño indigents received financial aid through the Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) as part of the activities to celebrate the birthday of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday.

Antique Representative Antonio Agapito Legarda, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), led the distribution of PHP5,000 each to beneficiaries from the municipalities of Sibalom, San Jose de Buenavista, Hamtic, and Tobias Fornier.

He said 250 recipients were chosen from each of the four municipalities to receive financial aid.

“We would like to greet President Marcos a very happy birthday, and we thank him for he is always there to help us Antiqueños,” Legarda said in his message during the distribution in Sibalom.

Beneficiary Armando Deypalubos, 62, a carpenter from this capital town, thanked President Marcos for the financial aid from the DSWD.

“I will use the amount to buy the needed medicine for my wife,” he said.

His wife, Fe Deypalubos, 64, came with him during the distribution of the financial aid. She has glaucoma and needs surgery, but they could not afford the cost.

Another beneficiary, Melchora Blanca, 54, also from this town, said she would use the amount as additional capital.

“I am a fish vendor, so I will use the amount as my additional capital,” she said. (PNA)
