MANILA – Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) turned over on Monday its pledge to double Paris Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.
The 24-year-old gymnast received his brand-new 2025 Land Cruiser Prado in a turnover ceremony at City of Sta. Rosa manufacturing plant in Laguna province, led by TMP president Masando Hashimoto and vice chair David Go.
“Thank you, Caloy, for being an inspiration. Like the Prado, you are legendary in every way,” Masando said in his speech.
He also shared that Toyota Motor Corporation chair Akio Toyoda is “very proud of him and all the athletes who pushed themselves to achieve the impossible.”
“I know this gift isn’t just about me. It’s about this community that has been cheering me on. Toyota, I am so grateful to be a part of your team, this leading brand, this community, and I hope that this gift will inspire others to also chase their own dreams and never give up,” Yulo said in his acceptance speech.
Yulo personally selected the White Pearl Mica color, with a 2.4 turbo engine and automatic transmission.
The retail price of the luxury sports utility vehicle is PHP4.815 million. (PNA)
