Drug sting yields P1.3-M shabu, nabs 6 in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY – Anti-drug operatives arrested six persons, including a high-value individual (HVI), and seized around 195 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of PHP1.326 million, on Tuesday afternoon.

A report released by the Iloilo City Police Office on Wednesday identified the HVI as alias Greg, 28, and a resident of Barangay Rizal Pala-pala in City Proper district.

The other suspects considered as street-level individuals included alias Jan-Jan, 36, and alias Syongo, 35, both from Barangay Granada in Bacolod City; alias Toto, 32 from Barangay Crossing Pulopandan, Negros Occidental; alias Jerry, 44 from Barangay Saguday, Quezon Province; and alias Andres, 34 from Barangay Cabugao Norte, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

They were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay North Baluarte.

Recovered items included eight sachets and two knot-tied plastic bags containing shabu, one sachet of the buy-bust item, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.

The suspects are now in the custody of the Iloilo City Police Station 4 and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
