'Kadiwa ng Pangulo' in Bicol records P1.7-M sales on PBBM’s birthday

LEGAZPI CITY – The Department of Agriculture (DA) in Bicol recorded a total of PHP1.7 million in sales generated from the "Kadiwa ng Pangulo" during last week's “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” event, marking the 67th birthday of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.

In a report on Wednesday, Lovella Guarin, DA-Bicol spokesperson, said the Kadiwa stalls in six provinces of the region of local farmers, exhibitors, and other national government agencies, offered agricultural products at affordable prices. 

Sales per province showed that Camarines Sur generated the highest with PHP689,695; followed by Sorsogon, PHP283,455; and Albay, PHP280,140. 

Catanduanes' sales amounted to PHP204,593; Masbate, PHP153,816; and Camarines Norte, PHP107,699. 

Other national government agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Labor and Employment, and the respective provincial local government units also participated in the Kadiwa ng Pangulo, offering various services to Bicolanos.

The National Irrigation Administration in Bicol also launched its "Murang Bigas sa NIA @ P29" program initially intended for vulnerable groups, including senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities. 

NIA reported that a total of 4,100 bags of rice, each containing 10 kilos, were sold regionwide. (PNA)
