Veteran journo Dindo Amparo takes oath as PBS-BBS chief

MANILA – Veteran broadcast journalist Fernando Sanga, popularly known as Dindo Amparo, took his oath on Wednesday as the new director general of the Presidential Broadcast Service - Bureau of Broadcast Services (PBS-BBS).

Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez swore in Sanga during the turnover of leadership with outgoing PBS-BBS chief Rizal Giovanni Aportadera on Wednesday night, according to a statement released by the Presidential News Desk (PND) on Thursday.

The PND also shared several photos of Sanga’s oath-taking.

At present, PBS-BBS owns and operates radio stations nationwide with DZRB Radyo Pilipinas Manila as its flagship station.

Sanga started his media career in 1987 as reporter of DZRB in Lucena.

He served as development information officer at the Philippine Information Agency from 1987 to 1989 and announcer-reporter at the PBS-BBS from 1989 to 1994.

He was an ABS-CBN reporter from 1994 to 2005 and later took the role as ABS-CBN news bureau chief in Dubai from 2005 to 2010.

He also served as ABS-CBN head of news gathering and assistant vice president. (PNA)
