Fisher missing for a month rescued off Batanes waters

MANILA – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued a fisher reported missing for more than a month off the waters of Basco, Batanes on Thursday.

Robin Dejillo, 49, of Barangay Dinahican, Infanta, Quezon, was sighted on board his white motorbanca by a Coast Guard Station Batanes patrol team.

He was reported missing on Aug. 4.

Dejillo said he failed to return to their mother boat after his motorized boat ran out of gas.

He said he survived at sea by drinking rainwater and eating fish and coconuts he found floating.

He was taken to the Batanes General Hospital for treatment. (PNA)
