‘Habagat’ continues to drench most parts of PH

MANILA – Most parts of the country will continue to experience cloudy skies with rain showers due to the southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” as Tropical Depression Igme has moved out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau bared on Sunday. 
 
As of 3 a.m., Igme was located 535 km north northwest of Itbayat, Batanes province, packing maximum winds of 55 km per hour near the center with gustiness of up to 70 km per hour, moving westward at 15 km per hour.
 
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.
 
Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
 
Residents in affected areas are warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
 
Strong winds and rough seas will be felt over the western and northern sections of Northern Luzon, while the rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas.
 
Light to moderate winds and light to moderate seas will prevail over the rest of the archipelago.
 
Meanwhile, sunrise was at 5:45 a.m., and sunset will be at 5:52 p.m. (PNA)
