BACOLOD CITY – Drug enforcement teams seized PHP3.702 million in shabu and arrested 13 individuals in this highly urbanized city in the past week, a report of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Monday showed.

“This has been accomplished as part of our relentless campaign against all forms of criminality,” Col. Joeresty Coronica, police city director, said.

From Sept. 16 to 22, the drug haul totaled 544.57 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of PHP6,800 per gram.

Among the recovery are the 350 grams of shabu valued at PHP2.38 million during a buy-bust in Purok Himaya, Barangay Mansilingan, on Sept. 19.

The four arrested suspects included two brothers, their cousin, and a companion.

The primary subject of the operation was one of the brothers who was under surveillance for two weeks, Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said.

On Sunday, two individuals, “Raymond,” 36, and “Clarisse,” 18, were arrested by operatives of Police Station 2 during a buy-bust in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2.

Both yielded 26 grams of shabu valued at PHP176,800, the police report showed.

According to the BCPO, cases were already filed in court against the 13 arrested individuals for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous  Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
