MANILA – Lalamove, an on-demand delivery platform, has opened doors with livelihood opportunities for public utility vehicle (PUV) and public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers under its nationwide “Tuloy Biyahe Program: Tsuper Onboarding Roadshow” program.

In a news release on Friday, Lalamove Philippines said the program provides PUV and PUJ drivers from north, central and south Luzon, as well as Metro Manila and Cebu with the opportunity to become their own bosses, offering flexible and sustainable livelihoods as Lalamove Partner Drivers.

“Our Tuloy Biyahe program goes beyond just helping drivers find work. It’s about helping them become more financially independent. We want to see them succeed as entrepreneurs and build a brighter future for their families,” said Djon Nacario, managing director of Lalamove Philippines.

Recognizing that PUV and PUJ drivers across the country have different needs apart from livelihood opportunities, Lalamove said the program ensures that even drivers without vehicles have a chance to become accredited partner drivers.

For those lacking a vehicle, the Tsuper Onboarding Roadshow offers car loan options through Lalamove Automotive, it added.

Other interested individuals can become partner drivers by “matching” with a Lalamove-verified fleet operator who needs drivers for their registered vehicles.

“We understand that all ‘tsupers’(drivers) – and even non-’tsupers’ – interested in signing up with Lalamove as a partner driver may not necessarily have a vehicle. With Lalamove Automotive and Lalamove’s fleet management program, we widen the possibilities for many people to be part of our driver community,” Nacario said.

With the support of various local government units (LGUs) in Luzon and Cebu, Lalamove will mount the Tsuper Onboarding Roadshow to help improve the lives of PUV and PUJ drivers.

The LGUs which already hosted the events are Pampanga on Sept. 18, Tarlac City (Sept. 19), Baguio City (Sept. 20), Quezon City (Sept. 26) and Valenzuela City (Sept. 27).

The upcoming events will be held in San Juan City on Sept. 30, Lipa City (Oct. 1), Mandaue City (Oct. 3) and Cebu City (Oct. 4). (PR)
