PH tourism call center nominated at Asia’s Best of Best Awards

MANILA – The Department of Tourism (DOT) call center catering exclusively to local and foreign tourists is nominated at the 2024 Asia’s Best of Best Awards.

Since its launch in October 2023, the Tourist Assistance Call Center (TACC) has accommodated more than 10,000 inquiries through various platforms such as email, voice calls, live chat and social media.

The TACC will be vying in the “Best in Service-Customer Support” category of the Asia’s Best of Best awards.

"Our commitment to hospitality begins long before a tourist sets foot in the Philippines. Through the Tourist Assistance Call Center, we ensure that visitors receive the guidance and help they need at every stage of their journey, from planning to their return home," Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said in a statement on Saturday.

The 24/7 multi-platform hotline TACC provides real-time travel-related information, emergency assistance and support to both local and international tourist.

Since its creation, it has maintained an average customer satisfaction rating of 84 percent in post-service surveys.

Majority of the inquiries come from the Philippines, followed by the United States and India.

On top of the TACC, the country is also shooting for the “Best Marketing Campaign” award for the “Love the Philippines” country branding and the “Best Woman Leader” award for Frasco.

The Asia Best of Best Awards is organized by the Dubai-based Golden Tree Events as part of the World Best of Best Awards program, which celebrates outstanding achievements across various industries and regions.

For Frasco, the nominations are a reflection of the “hard work of the entire tourism industry” in promoting the country and enhancing the overall tourist experience.

The winners will be revealed at the gala ceremony on Nov. 9 at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina. (PNA)
