MANILA – The grandson of the late action star Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ) is seeking to represent the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Party-list at the House of Representatives.

Brian Poe Llamanzares filed his certificate of nomination-certificate of acceptance of nomination (CON-CAN) as the first nominee of the group at the Manila Hotel Tent City on Thursday. He was accompanied by his mother Senator Grace Poe-Llamanzares.

Llamanzares is seeking to represent the sectors of urban poor, informal settlers, transportation, youth, farmers, fisherfolks, and front-liners in the lower chamber.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lisa Ong, wife of cardiologist and social media personality Dr. Willie Ong, filed her husband’s certificate of candidacy for senator.

Lawyer Gilbert Lauengco, spokesperson of Dr. Willie, said the candidate plans to conduct a hybrid form of campaigning for the next elections.

“He plans to go back to do a limited physical campaign by, probably, December to January. He will do as much as he did like the last time by going to social media with a bit of physical campaign,” he said in an interview.

Asked about Ong’s current health condition after he was diagnosed with sarcoma, Lauengco said Ong is confident of being able to overcome his sickness.

“He was told by his doctor that, although his condition is nothing to sneeze at, it is treatable,” he added.

Ong ran for vice president but lost in the May 2022 polls. (PNA)
