MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – Mayor of Sual town in Pangasinan province Liseldo Calugay, who made headlines for his alleged link to dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, on Thursday filed his certificate of candidacy for a third term in office.

Calugay and his running mates first visited the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Rosary of Manaoag in Manaoag town, Pangasinan and another church in Sual before proceeding to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in their locality.

He was greeted by supporters who were also wearing red shirts like the rest of their group.

“I was not expecting this many people supporting me,” he said in Filipino, addressing the crowd.

Calugay’s running mate is former councilman Max Millan.
