SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique – Former Antique representative Paolo Everardo Javier is seeking a comeback in the political arena, this time as governor of the province.

“I want to bring back the Javier brand of leadership,” he said in an interview after he filed his certificate of candidacy on Friday.

Javier served as representative for the lone district of Antique from 2010 to 2019. He attempted the gubernatorial seat in 2019 but lost to now-Governor Rhodora Cadiao.

He recalled their house was always open to people from all walks of life during his term, his father, Exequiel B. Javier’s term, and his late uncle, former Antique Governor Evelio B. Javier.

“If ever I would win, I would like to invite my political contenders to help me bring development to Antique,” he said.

Javier is running under the Aksyon Demokratiko, which is in alliance with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) headed by reelectionist Antique Rep. Antonio Agapito Legarda.

Filing their COCs with Javier Friday were his party mates running as provincial board members, namely Ricky Orendain, Edison Biadora, Eduardo Fortaleza, and Jose Claudio Alonsagay. (PNA)
