MALASIQUI, Pangasinan – An initial PHP3.7 million worth of damage in agriculture due to Super Typhoon Julian was recorded in Pangasinan, an official of the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said.
In a phone interview on Friday, PDRRMO administrative officer Kristine Solomon estimated the damage to crops, mostly rice, at PHP3.63 million.
The reports were submitted by the local governments of Calasiao, Mapandan, Manaoag, and San Jacinto, she said.
"The palay or rice crops were submerged in water or affected by strong winds, based on their report," she said.
San Jacinto’s local government also reported PHP67,400 worth of damage to livestock, she said.
Solomon said there were no casualties and no reported damage to infrastructure. (PNA)
