MANILA – The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that its official website would include comprehensive data on counterfeit and unregistered products seized by the Technical Working Group (TWG) Oplan Katharos from January to August 2024.

In a public advisory on Friday night, the FDA noted that Oplan Katharos is tasked with development and implementation of guidelines for the proper handling, storage, and disposal of seized health products.

"This update aims to promote transparency, provide stakeholders with vital information, and further strengthen our shared commitment to ensuring public health and safety," the FDA said.

"This new feature provides consumers with easy access to detailed information and statistics on confiscated counterfeit and unregistered products,” it added.

The agency also streamlined its reporting mechanism to make it more convenient for the public to report suspicious products.

"A simple click on the report button will now redirect users to the email address ereport@fda.gov.ph, where they can share details and relevant information about counterfeit or unregistered products," it said.

"This enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to ensure a faster, more efficient response to public concerns," it added.

Stakeholders, from consumers to healthcare professionals and industry members, are urged to actively utilize the website to stay informed and to help maintain a safe and compliant market for everyone. (PNA)
