MANILA – King Perez was a dominating figure as Fnatic Onic Philippines in sweeping reigning world champion Falcons AP Bren, 2-0, in a pivotal showdown at the MPL Philippines Season 14 eliminations at the Green Sun Hotel Ballroom in Makati Friday night.

With the victory, Fnatic Onic PH moved to 13-0, extending the MPL PH's record for the longest winning streak.

The club can complete the 14-0 sweep of the regular season with a Saturday night win against Smart Omega, a 2-1 winner against RSG Philippines in the first match.

Jayson Alupit and Jomari Pingol saved the day for Smart Omega as their last-ditch effort to steal the second seed away from Falcons AP Bren got a major boost.

Smart Omega made an active roster switch pre-game as they activated rookie Jet Amorsolo in Alupit's place as their midlaner.

The move backfired as Amorsolo struggled as Vexana and RSG PH took Game 1.

With Alupit, the main Position 4 guy, reactivated, coupled with Pingol's dominant showing as their gold laner, Smart Omega completed the reverse sweep to beat RSG PH.

After the results, Falcons AP Bren fell to 9-4, while Smart Omega moved to 8-5, closing the gap in the race for the second seed, which means a first-round bye in the playoffs, to only one match.

Meanwhile, RSG PH fell to 3-10, one game behind Blacklist International (4-9) for the sixth and last playoff spot.

RSG PH must beat Aurora, another team chasing the second seed, on Saturday night and hope that Blacklist falls to the same Aurora squad later in the evening to have a shot at making it to the postseason. (PNA)
