ILOILO CITY – The 24-hour anti-drug operation launched in this city resulted in the confiscation of over PHP3.3 million worth of shabu.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), in a statement on Tuesday, said the series of operations that started 4 a.m. Monday seized approximately 486 grams of shabu and arrested seven drug suspects
The largest haul was in Barangay General Hughes, City Proper District, where cops arrested a 46-year-old high-value suspect identified as alias "Lan" and confiscated 305 grams of shabu valued at more than PHP2.07 million.
A separate buy-bust operation in Molo district arrested another high-value individual identified as alias "Neneng."
Operatives seized from her possession 170 grams of shabu worth more than PHP1.15 million.
Three anti-drug operations in Barangay Bo. Obrero, Lapuz District; Barangay Concepcion, City Proper; and Barangay Kasing-Kasing, Molo apprehended five other suspects and seized over PHP64,000 worth of shabu.
The suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
