MANILA – Telecommunications provider Globe installed a new tower and made several site upgrades across Bukidnon with the goal of boosting connectivity in the region to enhance its capabilities in the agri-fishery and tourism sectors.

In a news bulletin on Tuesday, Globe senior vice president Joel Agustin said a new tower was installed in Malaybalay City; three site upgrades each in Libona, Manolo Fortich, and Quezon; two upgrades each in Malaybalay City and Valencia City; and one each in Lantapan, San Fernando, and Maramag.

“By expanding our network infrastructure, we are empowering local communities and businesses to thrive in a digital world and supporting regional development and economic growth,” Agustin said.

Bukidnon is a major producer of fresh fruits and vegetables in Mindanao, and is the country's second largest producer of corn.

These network improvements aim to support the local government, small and medium businesses, as well as farmers that are turning to digital tools to innovate and grow their business.

The province is also home to large agricultural corporations such as Del Monte Philippines, Lapanday Diversified Products, and Mt. Kitanglad Agri-Development. (PNA)
