SULTAN MASTURA, Maguindanao del Norte – Police arrested two men during an entrapment operation here and seized from them an M16 rifle and ammunition, an official reported Wednesday.

Lt. Col. Ariel Huesca, regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CIDG- BARMM) said the two were nabbed after agreeing to sell the rifle and bullets to an undercover CIDG operative in Barangay Tambo on Tuesday afternoon.

“The two did not resist arrest but were visibly stunned that they were dealing with a law enforcer,” Huesca said in a statement.

The suspects were identified as Taher Omba and Daw Rivas, both farmers and residents of Barangay Tambo.

The two are now detained at the CIDG-BARMM detention facility in Cotabato City, awaiting charges for violation of RA 10591 or the Unlawful Sale of Firearms and Ammunition. (PNA)
