MANILA – A few years ago, Kaya Iloilo was once tagged as the "comeback kings" following a bunch of late rallies from seemingly comfortable deficits to either force the draw or even steal the win in the old United Football League.

On Wednesday night, however, in the Philippines Football League, Iloilo fell at the wrong end of another club's comeback.

Negros pulled off a huge comeback to steal all the three points from their cross-Western Visayas rival via a 2-1 win at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.

The Ott Brothers made the rally possible as the defending champion opened its title defense bid on a high note.

Iloilo drew first blood in the 64th minute when Jordan Mintah blitzed past the entire Negros defensive line and slotted the ball against Toni Doblas from pointblank range.

Manny Ott, however, made his own dash to the goal and blasted the shot past Ref Cuaresma and into the net 10 minutes after.

Then it was Mike Ott's turn to break Iloilo's hearts, receiving the pass from Stephan Schrock and scored the eventual game-winner after another 10 minutes.

The win puts Negros at second place, overtaking Laguna, 2-1 winner over Cebu earlier Wednesday, on goal difference.

On the other hand, Iloilo slipped to fifth place also on goal difference as Davao, despite being tied with Iloilo on points, holds fourth spot. (PNA)
