Asis to face Australian foe on August 23

DAVAO CITY -- Australian-based Jack "The Assassin" Asis will fight undefeated Youssef Dib of Australia on August 23 at the Emporium Function Centre in Bankstown, New South Wales, Australia.

Asis (38W-22L-5D, 19KO), who is a former resident of this city and now a resident of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia lost via knockout to Bowyn Morgan of New Zealand in the third round last May 18 in Christchurch, New Zealand in the battle for the vacant World Boxing Union welterweight title.

Asis won over Luke Woods by a majority decision last Nov. 25, 2017 in Toowoomba. In 2015, Asis won the vacant International Boxing Organization (IBO) World super featherweight title via technical knockout (TKO) over Kye MacKenzie in the 8th round in New Lambton in New South Wales, Australia.

Dib, on the other hand, is undefeated with 12 straight wins and 5 knockouts.

He won by a majority decision over Mikhail Lesnikov of Russia last March 8. Dib earlier TKO'd Ty Gilchrist of Australia in the seconnd round last Dec. 21.
