Astrolabio to defend WBO Oriental bantam title

DAVAO CITY -- Vincent "Asero" Astrolabio of Gen. Santos City is set to step into the ring again for first defense of his World Boxing Organization Oriental (WBO) bantamweight title against Kevin "The Bull" Aseniero of Zamboanga City at the San Andres Sports Complex in Malate, Manila on Aug. 24 this year.

The 22-year old Astrolabio won his WBO crown via technical knockout victory against Patrick Liukhoto of Indonesia in Jakarta on April 6, 2019.

Astrolabio has improved his ring record to 13-3 with nine wins via stoppage.

He will be facing equally-strong Aseniero who is also coming off a seventh round TKO win over Kyota Otsuka of Japan in Bacoor, Cavite on July 20, 2019.

The 25-year-old Aseniero sports a 9-2-1 with five wins via knockouts.

The fight is promoted by Filipino world boxing champion Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao and Raides "Nonoy" Neri. (PNA)
