MANILA — Isabela City struggled at the beginning and fell to Novi Sad, 14-22, at the start of its campaign in the FIBA 3x3 Sukhbaatar Challenger on Friday.

Behind Dejan Majstorovic and Marko Savic, Novi Sad, a known powerhouse in 3x3 play, raced to a 7-1 run and never looked back, although Franky Johnson put up a gallant stand and kept Isabela City in the game.

Majstorovic made eight points while Savic added six points for Novi Sad, which will still await the result of the game between Isabela City and Ventspils Ghetto to determine its playoff fate.

Novi Sad was shocked by Ventspils earlier Friday, 18-21.

Johnson made six markers for Isabela City, which needs to beat Ventspils to keep its playoff bid alive in the qualifier for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Jeddah Masters.

The Scores:

Novi Sad 22 - Majstorovic 8, Savić 6, Zdero 4, Ivosev 4.

Isabela City 14 - Johnson 6, Hammonds 4, Rountree 3, Banal 1. (PNA)
