URDANETA CITY, Pangasinan – The Social Security System (SSS) branch in this city has identified six delinquent employers following their Run After Contribution Evaders (RACE) campaign.

The six employers have been issued notices to settle their delinquencies before the given deadlines, SSS Urdaneta City chief Christopher Servas said in an interview on Monday.

“This is our way to help them settle their delinquencies,” he said.

He added that employers can also settle delinquencies amicably.

“We have enough consideration for them but ultimately, this is for the benefit of the employees,” he said.

Servas said SSS also has condonation programs that the employers may avail of.

“Kung ang period ng delinquency ay between March 2020 to February 2022, di na sinisingil ‘yung legal interests, waived na lahat. Mayroon ding mga mixed period delinquency and pwede rin sila magsubmit ng installment proposal (If the period of the delinquency is between March 2020 and February 2022, the legal interest is waived. There are also those within the mixed period of delinquency and they may submit their installment proposal),” he said.

If the employers fail to act on and settle their delinquencies on time, their records will be forwarded to the legal department which will decide whether to file a case, he added.

“There are stages in collecting delinquencies. The administrative stage, wherein a billing letter is sent to them and that is the function of the branch, while the demand letter is under the legal department,” Servas said.

He said they will again conduct RACE operations in September.

The SSS Urdaneta City Branch covers the fifth and sixth district of Pangasinan with over 19 local government units.

The RACE covers employers with less than 100 employees or micro and small enterprises. (PNA)
