BUTUAN CITY – Police operatives have arrested 26 suspects and seized some PHP1 million worth of shabu in a series of operations from June 26 to July 5, an official of the Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13) said Friday.

Maj. Jennifer Ometer, PRO-13 information chief, said the operations are part of the intensified anti-illegal drugs campaign of the police in the region.

“The latest buy-bust was conducted on July 5 with the arrest of Joseph Miran, 37, in Paradise Village, Libertad, Butuan City,” she said.

Miran, who was arrested for illegal drugs sometime in 2020 and availed of a plea bargain in court for his liberty, was again monitored continuing his illegal activities, she added.

Seized from the suspect were 32 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP217,600.

In earlier operations conducted during the period, 25 suspects were also arrested, 14 of whom were considered newly identified drug personalities, seven high-value individuals, and four street-level offenders.

Some 125 grams of shabu worth PHP855,234 were confiscated from the suspects during the string of operations. (PNA)
