ILOILO CITY – A total of 28 government agencies will make available various services to the people of Capiz province under the Bagong Pilipinas Caravan of Services set on Oct. 12-13 at the Capiz Gymnasium in Roxas City.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on Friday said it would hold a ceremonial distribution of 67 patents consisting of 45 agricultural and 20 residential free patents under its Handog Titulo program.

It will also distribute two special patents for the school site to Benlit Elementary School in Bilao, Sapian, and for the local government unit of Dumalag.

DENR will likewise provide free legal counseling, especially involving land claims and conflict, accept Public Land Applications (PLAs) and water permit applications and distribute native and fruit tree seedlings.

“We encourage our beneficiaries and stakeholders in Capiz province to grab this opportunity and come visit us during the weekend Caravan of Services. This will also help them save time and money, especially when they have something to follow up at the regional office,” DENR OIC Regional Executive Director Raul Lorilla said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will distribute PHP5,000 each to 9,000 recipients of the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP), intended for the “near poor” segment of society under the low-income category severely affected by rising inflation.

“DSWD is bringing the services closer to the people through the caravan. We want the people to feel that their government is helping them,” said DSWD regional information office Lawyer May Rago.

The Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas announced in its Facebook post that the two-day event “to bring essential national government services closer to the community.” (PNA)
