DAVAO CITY – The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is "safe and secured" in terms of security and investment, a study released by the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Monday showed.

The overall result of the BARMM’s component of the Mindanao Trust, Respect, Safety, and Satisfaction (MTRSS) study obtained the following key results: 91 percent or very high on trust, respect (92% - very high), safety (88% - very high), and satisfaction (91% - very high), as presented by Dr. Adrian Tamayo, MinDA public relations chief, to Philippine Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) officials.

“These are not just mere data or scorecards. These are the new narratives that we have to collectively communicate to the public, particularly to our international partners,” Tamayo said.

MinDA Secretary Maria Belen Acosta described the findings as a "very good indicator that Mindanao is indeed safe and ready for investment."

“When we invite investors and they want proof in terms of statistics, we will be able to show them how high the trust index is especially here in Mindanao, and relatively we have a higher trust index compared to other parts of the Philippines,” she said.

Col. Rodolfo Inoy Jr., PRO-BAR community affairs and development division chief, said they welcome the BARMM study results and recommendations which are helpful baseline evidence in the assessment of the overall police service in the region.

“The study provides PRO-BAR the comprehensive discussion and recommendation that seeks to assist in reshaping towards a more realistic, peaceful, and positive narrative of the Bangsamoro region,” he added.

Inoy also floated the possibility of partnering with MinDA to create a tool to improve and analyze the police services of PRO-BAR to the communities in the region. (PNA)
