KORONADAL CITY – A series of intensified police law enforcement operations in the Soccsksargen region in the past two days led to the arrest of seven drug suspects, confiscation of PHP1 million suspected “shabu”, and seizure of an Uzi machine pistol.

“This accomplishment serves as another testament to the determination of our law enforcers in safeguarding our communities from the ill effects of illegal drugs,” Soccsksargen Police Director, Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, said in a statement Wednesday.

Police arrested John Dave Gansayan, 30, delivery truck driver, and Vergel Lintang, 40, security guard, both of Barangay Labangal, Gen. Santos City during an entrapment, Macaraeg said.

The duo was nabbed after allegedly selling shabu to an undercover police agent who used fake money.  Also seized from them were 110 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP750,000.

In Pres. Quirino, Sultan Kudarat province, police operatives also dismantled a drug den and apprehended a suspect in Barangay Bayawa on the same day, Macaraeg said.

On Tuesday, police arrested a man selling illegal drugs in Matalam, North Cotabato, and seized from him a homemade Uzi machine pistol during an operation in Barangay Kibudoc.

Macaraeg identified the man as Rey Rufon, 40, who yielded a loaded Uzi firearm and several sachets of suspected shabu.

Also on Tuesday, three illegal drug high-value targets were cornered In Banisilan, North Cotabato. The suspects, identified only through their aliases as “Mombawira,” 37; “Japar,” 28; and “Khalid”, 46, are residents of Amai Manabilang town in Lanao del Sur.

Seized from them were PHP250,000 worth of illegal drugs they intend to deliver to their clients in North Cotabato, according to Macaraeg.

In Surallah, South Cotabato, the police official said police arrested Tuesday drug suspect Elson Dellomes, 31, the eighth most wanted person in town and a resident of Barangay Centrala. (PNA)
