MANILA – A low pressure area (LPA) is likely to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday, the weather bureau said.
The LPA, last tracked 1,425 km. east of extreme Northern Luzon, has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecaster Obet Badrina said in the agency's 5 a.m. weather bulletin.
The LPA's trough, however, is forecast to cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, and Central and Eastern Visayas.
Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon will also be experienced in Palawan and Occidental Mindoro.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas may result in flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms will continue to prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA said severe thunderstorms may also result in flash floods or landslides.
Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas still prevail across the archipelago. (PNA)
