BACOLOD CITY – Anti-drug operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized 3.02 kilograms of shabu worth PHP20.536 million during a buy-bust at Purok Neptune, Barangay Singcang-Airport Tuesday afternoon.
Arrested suspect Jummel “Tata” Camento, 38, was tagged as a high-value individual.
The operation, led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit, was conducted two days before the highlights of the 44th MassKara Festival, which culminates this coming weekend.
The supply is believed to be for distribution during the celebration.
At around 3:15 p.m., undercover police officers purchased shabu from Camento, a police report showed.
Operatives recovered from the suspect 15 plastic sachets in various sizes containing shabu, still an undetermined amount of buy-bust money, and PHP1,500 in cash.
Each gram of shabu is pegged at PHP6,800.
The suspect is now in the custody of Police Station 8. (PNA)
