MANILA – The northeast monsoon and the shear line will continue to cause rain showers over most areas in Luzon, the weather bureau said Monday.

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said moderate to heavy rains are likely in the rest of Cagayan Valley due to the northeast monsoon. Flooding and landslides are also possible.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line will prevail over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Region 4-A (Calabarzon), Bicol Region, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya.

The northeast monsoon will also cause light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over Northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, based on PAGASA's latest forecast.

In its weather advisory No. 4 issued Sunday, the weather bureau said the shear line would bring a significant amount of rain over Quezon and Camarines Norte in the next two days. (PNA)
