MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience rain showers due to the presence of a low pressure area (LPA) and shear line, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

The LPA, formerly Tropical Depression Kabayan, was last tracked in the vicinity of Cabanglasan, Bukidnon.

In its 4 a.m. weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said both the LPA and shear line will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, Region 4-B (Mimaropa), Bicol Region, Quezon, and Aurora.

The northeast monsoon or "amihan", on the other hand, is affecting Northern and Central Luzon and will bring rains over Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Moderate to heavy rains in those areas may result in flash floods and landslides, PAGASA warned.

The weather bureau sad the northeast monsoon will also cause light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, strong winds and rough seas will be experienced over extreme Northern Luzon.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the eastern section of Mindanao.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
