CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A total of 12,564,355 Filipinos residing in the Calabarzon region have registered in the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), also known as the national ID, as of March 2024.

In an exchange of messages, Charito Armonia, director of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Calabarzon, said the apparent success of the PhilSys program in the region can be traced to the information dissemination strategies implemented by various agencies.

She also disclosed that as of the latest tally, some 6,265,732 PhilSys ID cards have already been issued to registered individuals.

“This victory is a big one step towards our goal of delivering a more efficient and affordable service to every Filipino,” she told the Philippine News Agency in a message on Thursday.

Armonia said it is not too late for Calabarzon residents who have not yet registered in PhilSys to do so.

“Through PhilSys, we make access even easier in public and private services, and strengthen the security and integrity of our transactions,” she added.

As of a 2020 census, Calabarzon has a population of 16,195,042 million individuals. (PNA)
