BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 (Caraga Region) achieved a 98.2 percent crime clearance efficiency rate from January to April.

Based on the record released by the PRO-13 Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division, the Caraga police managed to clear 2,798 out of 2,849 crime incidents recorded during the period.

A case is considered cleared when at least one of the offenders has been identified and there is sufficient evidence to charge them, PRO-13 explained in a statement on Wednesday.

"The additional indicator includes filing formal charges against the offender before the prosecutor's office or any other court of appropriate jurisdiction," it added.

Likewise, the police office reported attaining 78.41 percent in crime solution efficiency in the same period, with 2,234 out of 2,849 crime incidents solved.

PRO-13 Director, Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro, said the figure reflects the continuing commitment of police investigators in the region to ensuring justice for crime victims.

"The achievement also aligns with our intensified crime-solving efforts, thereby contributing to the peace and order in the region," he said. (PNA)
