BUTUAN CITY – Field units of the Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) seized over PHP7.3 million worth of illegal drugs from 86 operations conducted from May 1 to 31.
During the period, 97 drug personalities were also arrested, 21 of whom are considered high-value individuals.
“All arrested suspects are now placed under police custody. There is no slowing down in our fight against illegal drugs,” PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Alan Nazarro said in a statement on Friday.
Of the total illegal drugs seized, 777.579 grams are shabu, while 10,400 hills and one gram are marijuana.
The biggest drug haul took place on May 29 during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Ampayon in this city.
Arrested during the operation was “Jayrome,” 29, who yielded PHP476,000 worth of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
On the same day, two drug personalities were also arrested in separate operations in Agusan del Norte and Surigao del Sur provinces, which resulted in the confiscation of PHP29,240 worth of illegal drugs.
Nazarro commended the police field units in the region for the success of the anti-illegal drug operations during the month. (PNA)
