CEBU CITY – A former church volunteer yielded PHP7.1 million worth of suspected shabu in a sting operation in this capital city’s port area on Friday.

Suspect “Fara,” 48, and a resident of Stockton Village, Barangay Punta Princesa, was arrested during a buy-bust in Barangay San Roque here, according to Maj. John Lynbert Yango, Waterfront Police Station chief.

“Her name surfaced as an alleged high-value individual involved in illegal drug trading,” Yango said.

Police records showed that the suspect was arrested for a drug case in 2016 and was released in 2021.

According to the suspect, she was forced to sell drugs as she received no salary as volunteer. (PNA)
